Convalidations
(Getting Your Marriage Blessed in the Church)

Sometimes couples (in which at least one of the parties is Catholic) go through a civil or religious wedding ceremony without the blessing and authorization of the Catholic Church.  If there are not obstacles, it is possible to have their civil marriage "blessed in the Church," so that it is fully recognized in the Catholic Church.  If you find yourselves in this situation, please contact us.  We will be glad to help guide you through getting your marriage blessed and recognized in the Church.

Annulments

There are certain essential elements for a marriage to be valid.  If one of these essential elements is lacking, the marriage can be declared null through the Church.  If you are interested in inquiring into or applying for a declaration of nullity (an annulment), please see the following links, and contact us.  We will be happy to guide you through the application process.

Recommended Resources

The following PDF is a collection of recommended resources for marriage, male and female understanding, communication, sexuality, parenting, and finances.  Some of these resources are explicitly Catholic.  Some come from a secular or evangelical Protestant perspective.  These contain many valuable insights but should be also read with an informed Catholic faith that is able to sift out what occasionally might be lacking or not fully in concert with our faith.
